A character designed during my time at Truemax. We were asked to design a superhero character, complete with background story, 2D designs and eventually a 3D model. The project was canceled before the 3D model was completed.
Images was drawn by hand, scanned and then postprocessed and composited in Photoshop.

Name: None. (product ID: Nil-Djin)
Key Words: Air, quick (Elven figure). Environment: Comes from a mountainous area, with very thin air. Ability: Materializes air into solid, unmovable shapes. Weaknesses: Looses abilities unless focused. Very weak and poor at melee combat. Physics: Very fast and agile, but very weak. + Intelligent, fast, very agile. - Not strong, has to focuse on abilities to make use of them. Story: Was built by other androids in a temple-like community. All the androids in this community practised a form of meditational focusing similar to that of Zen-Buddhism (chi-gung). By use of this focusing, the androids have evolved unique abilities to alter the world surrounding them. They are able to imagine a change in the fabric of space, and manifest it. Every android has its own abilities, evolved partly during the construction and partly during its initial training. They have generic data banks which, at the time of construction, is identical to that of every other android. From here on out, the androids themselves alter and contribute to their data banks, using its experiences and knowledge to optimize and specialize their algorithms. This enables each of the androids to evolve its own special abilities, meanwhile learning from and teaching the other androids of the community
Over the later years, the home of the androids increasingly became a target for malicious attacks from other civilisations, who craved their knowledge of design, production and meditation. Finally, after a large number of androids had been deactivated and stolen to be analyzed, the community decided to create a new hybrid of themselves, who were to safeguard the community. These androids was equipped with reinforced armoury to protect their otherwise fragile composition, and their data banks specifically re-designed to develop certain skills. During this process, the androids decided to build two types of guards; the Offensives and the Defensives. The Defensives would effectively block enemy attacks, while the Offensives took on strategic positions and sought to counter-attack the invaders, thereby either anihilating them or driving them away. These attacks was often assisted by the Defensives, who would empower the Offensives with their own abilities. For example, an Offensive guard could concentrate on attacking the enemy, while a Defensive could use his powers to elevate the Offensive, and move him away from enemy attacks. Unfortunately, the guard androids' abilities was based on the same principles of the original androids. Therefore, their powers still relied on the power of meditation and focusing. This provided the guards with their one, great weakness; if they do not remain focused on their current task, their powers would flicker or vanish until they would focuse once again. The Nil-Djin was designed as a defensive android and excelled in altering the fabric of air, effectively creating inanimate shields of unbreakable sub-matter. These shields could be created directly in front of an attacking ship, traveling at full speed, causing the ship to crush itself against the wall of sub-matter.
