A poster I did for myself, after reading "The essence of Buddha's Teachings" on LucidCafé (thanks for the link, Gert). It's meant for printing on A3 (297 x 420 mm) with no borders, but will scale nicely if your printer has margins. Download the PDF.

"What would Buddha do?" A sentence that kept popping up in my head from time to time. Tonight, I finally went and did something with it. It's a spoof on the Christian version ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_would_Jesus_do ), inspired by tshirthell.com (and their "What would Jesus do... For a Klondyke Bar?"). This design is for an old sweatshirt of mine, that I hope to renew as soon as I get the printer working :) |

Apparently, I had a concussion after my match at Adrenaline 1 (see last post). I've felt very tired and had a hard time focusing the last few weeks… Last night, I got to talking about it with a doctor from the gym, and it seems like a concussion is the reason behind it.
Luckily, it's slowly wearing off — and I've done more or less what I should've since then (with the exception of some Weng Chun sparring a few times shortly afterwards). |

I went to the Martial Arts tournament Adrenaline 1 on May 5 to provide moral backup and to be one of the tournaments' photographers. As it turned out, one of the fighters sprained an ankle, and I decided to step in and take a grappling match. It went very well, and I won after about four and a half minute by submission with a rear naked choke. I'm very pleased :) "read more" for the video Video removed, based on a kind request from the adrenaline-people :) Instead, you can check out the fightcard at http://adrenalinesports.dk/fightcard.asp They're uploading videos as soon as possible, so I'm hoping my fight will be online shortly. |

Last weekend, Damoun Nassehi (a student from the gym) participated in the grappling tournament CSAOpen 2. He had four initial fights, two of which he won. He lost one to a BJJ blue belt (on judges decision — pretty damn impressive for a white belt with less than one year of training), and the last guy didn't show up. He went on to fight in the next round, but was submitted by another BJJ Blue belt. Big congrats to Damoun for entering the tournament — and even bigger for the impressive results! On another, more personal note, I sparred with my good friend and training partner Jimmi yesterday. As always, we had a great time and were both invigorated afterwards. We always have one or more cool moments during sparring, and yesterday was no exception; i got some great punches in, successfully executed a difficult but pimpish armbar from open bottom guard (which is fast becoming a favorite of mine), and did some good ground N pound defense from bottom guard as well as from bottom mount. Unfortunately, my elbow suffered a bit from the sparring, so I've got to be a bit careful with it the next few days. Jimmi landed some excellent punches as well (at least two knockouts, had we gone full blast) and executed some great sweeps and reversals. We both worked on our guard game, and found some errors and possibilities for improvement that will help us get better. For the first time this year, we went outside to spar. It felt great! I really love the summer, and it looks like it's on its way early this year. |
